An amazing film deserves an amazing review. The Cantonese dialogue translated into English subtitles in the movie is funny beyond comprehension. You just need to see it to believe. That is why my review of this film will be a narration with actual subtitles straight from the film. Hope you enjoy!

Maria despises her abusive, invalid husband and is carrying out an affair with their gardener, Roberto. He buys her a necklace.

Roberto: "It doesn’t worth much."
Maria: "But I dare not wear it."
Roberto: "You can wear it later."
Maria: "I might have to wait till I died."
(they hug)

Then Roberto dies in a car accident. Maria takes his corpse to an old witch.

Witch: "I’ll let you have the marriage. Be couples after this life. Maria is hoping to die. And marry Roberto in the dark abyss."
(Maria cuts her wrist and bleeds onto her lover’s face.)
Witch: "Till death do us part and meet again in the next cycle."
(offers Maria a bowl of soup)
"After drinking my magic soup all your troubles will be erased."

Maria refuses the soup for some reason. They stroll through the foggy darkness.

Witch: "You’re sweet and pure. Do you want to be a saint?"
Maria: "I want to reincarnate."

Maria has died and been reincarnated. She lives with her cousin Bo. They go to a psychic who informs them that Roberto, now known as Robert is living in Hong Kong. Bo spends her free time sleeping with guys and is jealous of her cousin’s good looks. Bo brings a man into the house, thinking Maria has gone out.

Bo: "Are you afraid that the drink has a spell and dare not finish it?"
Man: "No."
(he drinks)
Bo: "My room is nicely decorated as well."
(they head upstairs)

Maria walks in, unnoticed, while Bo is having sex. She goes downstairs feeling lonely.

Robert, now married to Amy, has to leave home on a business trip. Maria returns to the psychic and learns that Robert will be somewhere in the Philippines. She encounters him at a cemetery but he dismisses her and leaves. We cut to a jungle waterfall scene. There’s a beautiful naked goddess bathing with 3 other girls.

Girl: "Goddess, this flower can put a spell on people."
(hands the goddess the flower)
Goddess: "Yes, it is a mystical power. If you know the birth date and time of a person, you can cast a spell on him."

Cut to a random woman approaching Robert in a restaurant. She wants to read his fortune because he looks worried. While showing him cards she puts a powder in his drink. She tells him he will love another woman. Then they go have sex on the carpeted floor of his hotel room. While screwing this woman her face flashes and we realize he figured something out, but not sure what.

Bo heads out into the forest searching for the evil sorcerer Ramau. She finds him in an abandoned building full of midgets and caged women. The midgets act as wranglers and like to torture the prisoners.

Bo: "Sorcerer, I’m here to ask for the medicine for spells."
Ramau: (laughs)
"I like helping broken hearts... Are you a virgin?"
Bo: "I’ve lost my virginity long ago."
Ramau: "That’s good."
(he hands her a small box with the powder)
"But you must sacrifice."
Bo: "What kind of sacrifice?"
Ramau: "To give me your body."
Bo: "Right."
(Ramau laughs maniacally and takes Bo into a cave-like room)
Ramau: "Let’s pray to the Snake God."
(snakes appear on his head)

Ramau tears Bo’s clothes off and violently rapes her as the snakes watch. A white spot appears on the screen over the actress’ genital area. Later Bo returns home and uses the magic powder to sleep with her cousin’s suitors. She’s jealous of the attention men pay to Maria.

On the street Maria almost crashes her vehicle into Robert. She helps him up and they go for a walk.

Maria: "I’m so sorry I’ve crashed into you."
Robert: "No problem."
Maria: "My love Roberto was killed in a car accident."
Robert: "How many years ago?"
Maria: "40 years ago."
Robert: "How old are you now?"
Maria: "Do you believe in reincarnation?"
Robert: "There’s always surprises in this world; I believe there’s ghosts."
Maria: "Your eyesight, hair, is the same as Roberto."

Robert leans in to kiss her but freaks at the last moment and runs off. At home, Bo comforts her cousin, Maria.

Bo: "I knew a sorcerer with a mighty power. He is Ramau who can give you spell medicine. Robert will love you then."
Maria: "But one has to sacrifice to cast those spells."
Bo: "He is most afraid of virginity blood. Your still a virgin, there’s no need to be scared."
Maria: "What about in the future?"
Bo: "That will be future’s problems."

The two women go to the woods to meet Ramau. They are freaked by the crawling midgets. They find the evil sorcerer.

Ramau: "You’re good to bring such a pretty girl for my enjoyment."
(laughs crazily)
Bo: "No, my cousin is a virgin."
Ramau: (to Maria) "Who’s that fortunate guy you’re in love with?"
Maria: "His name is Roberto. I have save my virginity for him."
Ramau: "I’ll give you the medicine."
(hands Maria the magic powder)
"When you have lost your virginity you have to give your flesh for my enjoyment." (laughs maniacally)

Maria surprises Robert at a beach resort. They sit and talk. She puts the powder in his drink. We cut to them having great sex in a room. Deep in his lair the evil sorcerer knows she’s lost her virginity and is rejoicing. That night Maria dreams with Ramau.

Ramau: "Maria, give it to me now!"

In bed with Robert, she wakes screaming. She confesses to him everything and he tells her that they will make plans to leave to America. Meanwhile, Robert’s wife misses him and she flies to the Philippines in search of her husband. She finds the hotel room where he was staying and sleeps there. She has a nightmare with snakes.

In the morning she decides to consult with a good, old sorcerer, Tao.

Tao: "Good, watch the magic stove."
(Amy and the sorcerer’s young daughter look into a small pot and see Robert being choked by snakes)
"Your husband has been poisoned by the Snake Spell. Snake Spell is the most terrible spell; must be cast by the bad Ramau. He has great power, but wicked. I’ll talk to him tomorrow."
Tao’s daughter: "You’re so old, your power may not be competitive."

The next day when Tao visits Ramau, the bad sorcerer refuses to help.

We cut to a waterfall paradise. The goddess walks around naked with 3 other women. Ramau is there! He is praying.

Goddess: "Ramau, what are you begging me for?"
Ramau: "Goddess, Tao Sorcerer challenged me. I beg you to grant me power to kill him."

Very fucking abruptly we cut to Amy showing up at Robert and Maria’s doorstep. The two women sit and talk while Robert hides upstairs.

Amy: "Your really beautiful, no wonder my husband loved you."
Maria: "I have been loving Robert for 20 years."
Amy: "You are so young, you can find another man."

Maria starts crying. Amy really just wants to help so she goes to see Tao again. Tao’s daughter learns that her father wants to challenge Ramau and becomes worried.

Tao’s daughter: "Don’t go, your old. Your force is not as strong as Ramau’s. Don’t go. I beg you dad."

The old sorcerer ignores his daughter’s plea and proceeds to battle it out with Ramau during a hurricane. Ramau whips his ass (not literally).

Ramau: "I’ve won, Maria is mine. Robert, I have to put snake into your stomach and let you die slowly."

Robert sleepwalks out of his house and later grows scales on his stomach. Maria feels guilty. Wounded, bedridden Tao talks to his daughter and Amy.

Tao: "There’s only one way to break Ramau’s spell; to use virgin’s blood. When touched virgin’s blood, he’ll be poisoned to death."
(Tao croaks)
Tao’s daughter: "I have to revenge for dad. I’m still a virgin, I’ll sacrifice myself. I must kill Ramau."

Amy and Tao’s daughter go to Ramau. They trick him into believing they are their to ask for spell medicine. He makes them both undress. Ramau gets excited and chases after the good sorcerer’s topless daughter. She faints. He lays her down and sucks on her toes. He starts raping her and freaks out when he gets her virginal genital blood on his hands. Amy seizes the opportunity and stabs him in the gut. He dies as snakes and rats come out of his bloody stomach wound and mouth.

So now after all this, who do you think Robert will end up staying with? Will it be the self-sacrificing Amy, whom he has a child with, or will it be with his past life love Maria? I guess you just have to watch the movie and find out. This film is chock full of schlock and sleaze. We get to see boobs and laugh out loud to the bad subtitles. I had an excellent time with this film. It has nothing to do with cannibals, but who cares.
