Like many of you, I am attracted to a good gore film. I had heard there was plenty of blood and guts on display here so I rented Organ from Netflix. This is a crap ass Japanese gore film with melodramatic story and sly metaphors which add up to bullshit. I had to resort to reading other reviews to understand this head-on collision experience and even then, many of the other reviewers were confused themselves. Sometimes I think that only the Japanese can identify with some of their more "out there" schlock movies.

Numata and Tosaka are two police detectives hot on the trail of human organ traffickers. They stumble upon a slaughterhouse and violent roughhousing ensues. Numata escapes but is forced to leave his brother Tosaka behind. Numata gets the boot from the police department and spends the rest of the film tracking down his brother which might be alive somewhere. Yoko, a woman with an eye patch, (played by the director, Fujiwara) and her brother run the trafficking business. Through flashbacks we see how they had a lunatic mother which disfigured her son’s penis and poked her daughter’s eye out because she was mad that her husband was cheating on her. I also think she gave herself an abortion later on by a river. Is this fucked-up background story supposed to explain why these siblings now traffic human organs? If your husband is cheating on you, do you attack your kids? What the fuck?

Yoko’s brother works at a school teaching biology when he’s not cutting out human organs. It is hinted at that his penis disfigurement has made his cock monstrously large. When school girls are upset over bad grades he reams them until dead. He also has a freakish butterfly collection. If this wasn’t weird enough he has visions where his body is covered in oozing sores and a woman is coming out of a cocoon. In his lab he keeps Tosaka half alive. His arms and legs have been amputated and he is turning into a plant. Yes, you heard that right. Tosaka is turning into vegetation.

What really bothered me about this film was that they made a jumbled mess of everything. There were many scenes where people covered in blood were just fighting each other. I couldn’t tell who was who. The settings were abysmal. There’s the dimly lit slaughterhouse and a shitty broken-down house were we meet a toilet bowl cleaner. There are so many dirty people doing pointless shit. In one scene a fat lady urinates in the corner of her bedroom and in another room there are half naked men sleeping together on the ground. The butterfly lab has a secret room where Tosaka is being held for god knows what reason. It looks worse than Buffalo Bills house from The Silence of the Lambs.

In the end a bunch of smelly, bloody people struggle with each other with guns and knives. The crazy cock guy who has puss infected soars fucks a curious female teacher. Numata finds his brother but then nothing happens. The gore is mostly rotted flesh and oozing sores kinda stuff. Its like bloody scrambled eggs. I could barely make out the plot. This movie is horrible and if you plan on watching it, don’t be sober.
