This movie picks up right after the first one ended. The character of Frank Davis, the original father of the first monster is back to help a young couple who may be having a monster baby.

Eugene and Jody Scott are having a baby shower at their home. It’s time for the guests to leave but a mysterious stranger hangs around. He introduces himself as Frank Davis and has a long talk with them about their baby. He explains that blood tests may confirm that they will have a mutant baby like his. Frank is a member of a sympathetic group to help understand the nature of these mutant babies instead of just killing them. The next day Jody goes into labor and ends up in the hospital. The police want to kill the baby immediately. But Frank holds an old guy cop hostage and manages to have the couple and their baby escape. They will be staying at a covert location where the cops can’t find them. There they have scientists from the group carefully studying the babies. Yes they have two other freak babies in that place.

The doctor in that place underestimates the babies’ thirst for blood and gets killed while letting one loose. They eventually all get loose in the complex. Late at night while swimming in the pool a baby attacks and scratches Eugene. The cops had Jody’s mother place a tracking device in her purse. So when Jody arrives at the complex the cops now know their location.

The police raid the house and manage to shoot down two of the babies. They cover up the house where the last baby is and send deadly smoke into it. Jody starts to fall in love with her freak baby and ignores the fact that he is a killer. She convinces Eugene not to shoot it. But the police get there in time and take the parents out of the smokey building. The baby is shot in the end.

I absolutely hated everything about this movie. It has a similar (but much worse) deathly tone and feel to the first movie that makes you want to kill yourself. The atmosphere and the acting are all depressing and gray. I understand they want us to react as an audience to whether it would be ok to kill a mutant baby. I say hell yeah, take it down like a dog. They have already established that these are not real human babies, they are animalistic killing machines disguised as babies. If my wife had one I would be super depressed but would have to have the baby put down because its eventually going to kill people. We shouldn’t see it as our child, its like a demon thing that must be destroyed. That’s what the police have been trying to do but Frank Davis is thwarting their efforts. But in the end the freak baby is dead so I’m happy at least for that. I don’t condone suicide so therefore stay the hell away from this soul- wrenching black hole trash. I took the bullet and I’m depressed now. But fuck yes, that thing is dead. I might not have nightmares tonight. Nightmares of boredom and death.
