This may be the funniest attempt to classify something as a snuff film. All the hype and hoopla you have heard regarding this movie pertains to the snuff portion of the film which is roughly the last five minutes. The meat of the film is footage from an uncompleted Argentinean flick called The Slaughter. How the end is tacked on and the details of the snuff bit I will not reveal for those of you that want to see it for themselves.

The story involves a female biker gang/cult that is lead by a man named Satan. Their objective is to kill a pregnant actress. The plot’s resemblance to the Manson, Sharon Tate murders is obvious. I liked this crazy story as much as the snuff ending. These cult chicks like to bathe topless in muddy lakes, snort drugs and fuck Satan. Then we get to see the fabulous life of Terry London, a sexy actress who does nudie pictures. While enjoying a local carnival in Argentina with the director of her new film in pre- production, one of the gang girls murders the director. Another cult girl, Angelica, has been sent to spy on Terry’s estate as a servant. Satan has things planned out. But why does he want to kill Terry? You might as well ask Manson why he ordered Tate killed. The important thing is that the cult is made up of sexy young girls who kill on command.

The scenes in the movie are strangely pieced together. For a while it feels like a wild biker crime film with cultish shit, boobs and violence. Then all the attention is fixed on Terry’s life in Argentina and her relationship with her rich boyfriend Horst. The transitions are not smooth and this detracts from the overall entertainment. There is also an unnecessary but cool flashback about Angelica’s past. It shows how she was raped and controlled by men for a long time. In another scene we see how she is initiated into the cult by being fucked in the ass (literally) by Satan. Come on now; you can’t take a movie seriously when the cult leader is named Satan. Towards the end of the film the gang holds up a local store, killing the owner. Then they infiltrate Horst’s mansion to kill Terry.

We have a lot of good things that I always enjoy in a film here. There are 70's topless girls killing people. The gore is cheesy but fun; the blood looks like red paint. Then there is a strange cult leader named Satan who hides in an abandoned factory, yet can compel beautiful women to do his bidding. The sleaze, schlock and gore are here. The only thing missing is cohesion. Things are left loose and not well explained. This jigsaw puzzle is missing quite a few pieces. Also the quality of the directing and plot are quite weak. Snuff is a very watchable film, especially if you like 70’s sleaze. It doesn’t add up to much but if you don’t expect much you will have some fun. The notorious ending is pretty cool, but nothing out of this world, and way too short. The title doesn’t represent this film well. This is a cheap 70’s movie about a cult of murderous women. If that sounds good to you, then you will enjoy this.
